RJ Lee Group Scientist to Represent at National Level of ASM International


RJ Lee Group’s Dr. Matthew J. Perricone has accepted a seat on the Chapter Council of ASM International (The Materials Information Society) representing District 10, which encompasses most of the state of Pennsylvania, including the Pittsburgh, Penn State, and Philadelphia chapters. Dr. Perricone has been heavily involved with ASM, most recently as the chair of the Albuquerque, NM, Chapter this past year, and currently as the chair of the Emerging Professionals Committee. His relocation to Pittsburgh presented this new and exciting challenge within another region of ASM.

Perricone has accepted a seat on the Chapter Council of ASM International (The Materials Information Society) representing District 10, which encompasses most of the state of Pennsylvania, including the Pittsburgh, Penn State, and Philadelphia chapters. Dr. Perricone has been heavily involved with ASM, most recently as the chair of the Albuquerque, NM, Chapter this past year, and currently as the chair of the Emerging Professionals Committee. His relocation to Pittsburgh presented this new and exciting challenge within another region of ASM. The requirements of this 3 year appointment include attendance at 2 events a year: ASM Leadership Days to be held in Salt Lake City, UT in August 2007, and the Materials Science & Technology (MS&T) Conference to be held in Detroit, MI in September 2007.

RJ Lee Group supports the endeavor and views this high profile position within the society as a means to not only promote Dr. Perricone as an expert, but also bring attention to the Company as a leading organization within the materials community. “I believe that my position can only serve to increase our industrial network that could provide new business for the company,” says Perricone.

Dr. Matthew J. Perricone is a senior scientist and project manager in technical consulting services at RJ Lee Group. He has experience as a materials scientist in governmental, academic, and industrial sectors with much of his technical focus on physical metallurgy, particularly in the areas of solidification and phase transformations. He also has performed extensive analyses in regards to the metallurgy of joining processes like welding, brazing, and soldering. In fact, he was recently recognized for his work in laser welding before joining the RJ Lee Group team with a 2007 Employee Recognition Award at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM.

Dr. Perricone is one of the newest members of the RJ Lee Group team but has already become heavily involved with projects in Technical Consulting Services, including litigation support activities. He also serves as a technical resource for the many and varied industrial consulting projects currently underway at RJ Lee Group.

ASM International, founded in 1913, has existed to provide a means for exchanging information and professional interaction.
