(MONROEVILLE, Pennsylvania – January 11, 2012) For the second year in a row, the Group Troop organization at RJ Lee Group, Inc. made a holiday donation to Pittsburgh’s Make-a-Wish Foundation. This year’s contribution, presented live on Wish 99.7 FM radio by Barb Pellegrino a Group Troop member, came to $3070. When asked how the money was raised, Ms. Pellegrino explained, “Departments at the company chose themes and created baskets which were then put on display as part of a Chinese auction. Employees had less than a week to buy tickets. To encourage even more participation, Dr. Richard J. Lee, CEO, donated a large, flat-screen TV as a bonus prize.” Ms. Pellegrino added that everyone contributes with an open heart because they know the funds are used locally to put a smile on a child’s face.
The Group Troop, an in-house social organization, is entering its third year of promoting involvement in the local community. Past activities have included charitable walks, food and clothing/toy donations, ice cream socials, pot-luck luncheons, Steelers’ pools and multiple recycling efforts. Allison Murtha, Group Troop President, noted “We are a part of this community and neighbors help each other out whenever they can. With Dr. Lee’s support, we plan to continue to expand our charitable efforts in 2012.”
