RJ Lee Group’s Gary Casuccio Co-Authors Manuscript to be Published in Environmental Science & Technology


(MONROEVILLE, Pa., March 21, 2012) Gary Casuccio, Vice President and Senior Scientist at RJ Lee Group, Inc., is a contributing author to the manuscript “Single Particle SEM-EDX Analysis of Iron-Containing Coarse Particulate Matter in an Urban Environment: Sources and Distribution of Iron within Cleveland, Ohio,” which has been accepted for publication in an upcoming issue of Environmental Science & Technology.  Mr. Casuccio joined with Andrew P. Ault, Thomas M. Peters, Eric Sawvel, Robert Willis, Gary Norris, and Vicki H. Grassianto to present a new and important innovation in the field, single particle analysis combining x-ray elemental mapping and computer-controlled scanning electron microscopy (CCSEM-EDX) of passively collected particles.

Mr. Casuccio has more than 30 years of experience and 100 publications in the fields of air quality and particulate analysis.  He has served as an advisor to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the analysis of particulate matter using SEM and CCSEM techniques, and he has been active in the development of analytical methodologies based on microscopy techniques.
