RJ Lee Group is hosting a free speaker series, “Scaling and Corrosion in the Oil & Gas Industry.” This informative session will be held on September 15 in our new location in Canonsburg, PA.

As Marcellus and Utica infrastructure matures, scaling and corrosion issues will increase. Daily routines, such as handling fluids containing extreme dissolved solids, chemically incompatible ions, organics, and corrosion-causing bacteria, can be costly if a proactive plan to minimize scaling and corrosion is not implemented.

Presenters include Steve Strba from SS Consulting, Inc., Vince Conrad and Keith Wagner from RJ Lee Group, Pat McKenzie from OLI Systems, George Ganzer and Jeff Kramer from BWA Water Additives, and Joe Barone from Tesla Nanocoatings. The morning session will discuss scaling in the oil and gas industry, while the afternoon session will cover corrosion in the oil and gas industry.

You’ll learn more about:

  • Understanding scaling and corrosion fundamentals
  • Applying models to predict scaling
  • Identifying techniques to characterize scale and assess corrosion
  • Managing scaling and corrosion by implementing new control strategies and technologies

Join your colleagues at the “Scaling and Corrosion in the Oil & Gas Industry” seminar to develop the knowledge you need to prepare for scaling and corrosion issues. Click below to see our schedule and to register before September 11, because attendance is limited.

About Vincent B. Conrad, Ph.D.

Dr. Vince Conrad is a Consulting Scientist at RJ Lee Group, where he is responsible for coordinating the development of laboratory/technical services and implementation of projects to address the constantly changing needs of the coal, gas, power generation, and water industries. As former Director of Technical Services at CONSOL Energy (R&D), Dr. Conrad used his analytical chemistry background to resolve environmental, maintenance, safety, and supply chain management issues and worked with engineers to develop new processes and procedures to solve operational, environmental, and maintenance problems.
Dr. Conrad has more than thirty years of experience directing laboratory support for technical service projects including characterization of Marcellus flowback and produced water, implementing proactive maintenance support for mining equipment, and coordinating analytical support for coal mine fires as well as for research projects that evaluated priority pollutants, fine particulate, mercury, and trace element emissions from power plants.
Dr. Conrad received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his doctorate in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Tennessee. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented numerous papers at professional symposia.
