RJ Lee Group Attains ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accreditation for Materials CharacterizationPost by: RJ Lee Group News
RJ Lee Group has obtained the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accreditation for its headquarters in Monroeville, Pa. This ISO specifies the competence requirements to perform tests and/or calibrations, including sampling. Specifications include calibration and testing performed using standard methods, non-standard methods, and lab-developed methods. All organizations that perform testing and/or calibrations may apply for the ISO, including first-, second-, and third-party laboratories, including those where testing and/or calibration is a part of its inspection and product certification.
Tammie Mussitsch, QA Manager at RJ Lee Group, explained, “Our laboratory’s quality system was already compliant to ISO/IEC17025, but some of the Research and Development areas needed to be brought into compliance with the current quality system procedures. We are now completely in compliance.”
RJ Lee Group’s scope for the accreditation encompasses the characterization of any material of unknown origin, including those from the life sciences, materials testing, and more. To read the entire ISO, please click here.
Dr. Richard Lee, CEO, sees ISO/IEC 17025:2005 as a way to offer services to clients in new industries around the world. In an interview, he was pleased the company earned the accreditation: “As globalization becomes the norm rather than the exception, it is increasingly important that our lab accreditations meet appropriate international standards. This certification will open markets in the international automotive and manufacturing markets that we have not had access to in the past.”
