Job Summary:

The Software Engineer II position will participate in design, coding, testing, implementing, and supporting of mission-critical, enterprise applications. The position will be working with small to mid-sized agile teams in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing highly interactive and easy to use web applications
  • Producing quality, efficient code based on specifications
  • Translating functional and user requirements into screen mock-ups and reviewing them with the end-user(s)
  • Participating in architecture and design discussions
  • Performing unit and integration testing
  • Implementing modifications to existing applications
  • Troubleshooting and debugging to resolve issues
  • Creating technical documentation for reference and reporting
  • Demonstrating changes to team members and stakeholders

Qualifications and Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have appropriate education, experience, and professional registrations.  Following is a list of required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or Associates degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3-5 years of proven experience developing web applications using Java, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, XSLT, HTML and XML data services
  • Experience with workflow driven applications preferred
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Unix/Linux commands
  • Understanding of triple store/graph databases
  • Experience with Web Services, preferably RESTful Web Services
  • Experience with Commercial Reporting Tools (MS SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports Etc.) or Open Source Reporting Tools (JODReports, SDOC, Eclipse BIRT Project, Etc.)
  • Experience with RDBMS such as SQLServer, Oracle, or Access; Writing SQL Server queries
  • Experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and frameworks
