Graf, George, J. C. Glass, D. H. Ewert and B. A. Mayo, “Positrons In Bimolecular Systems I: Proteins,” Proceedings of the Sixth International Conference on Positron Annihilation, sponsored by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics and American Physical Society, University of TX at Arlington, pp. 928-929. April, 1982.
Pickoff-annihilation parameters, interpreted in terms of the free volume model, are shown to be indicators of changes in overall protein conformation due to environmental perturbations such as temperature and pH. Measurements are discussed for both thermally stable and unstable proteins as well as inhibited enzyme.
