2005 Delta-Energy Established to Develop Environmentally Friendly Technologies. RJ Lee Group (RJLG) and its affiliate Delta-Energy (DE) have developed a process for recycling tires. This depolymerization process extracts carbon black, fuel oil and gas from scrap tires. The new technology takes a health and safety problem (scrap tires) and turns it into the creation of valuable products (carbon black, fuel oil and gas) and jobs. It uses low temperature and a negative pressure to break down tires. The key to this process is a patented catalyst that is used to reduce the energy required to break down the chemistry in the rubber. The net results are products that are either used to fuel the process (gas and oil) or sold as consumer products (fuels) and are utilized as a raw material in the manufacturing of rubber products (as a reinforcing agent) and plastic products (as a tinting agent). DE currently operates a facility in Berthold, North Dakota.
