1989

RJ Lee Group Opens Laboratory in Virginia.
RJ Lee Group's Manassas, Virginia (Washington DC) location offers a full-range of asbestos analytical services and is fully accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) and the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). The laboratory is equipped with multiple Phase Contrast and Polarized Light microscopes as well as a Transmission Electron Microscope.

1988

ETC Becomes RJ Lee Group.
Throughout the years, ETC became involved in a wide variety of service and research projects that involved the use of advanced analytical techniques, particularly electron microscopy and computer-controlled microscopy for particulate characterization. It was then, and when Dr. Richard Lee became a part of the team, that the name changed to RJ Lee Group.

1987

ETC Opens Laboratory in California.
The Company expanded its operations to include a laboratory in the Bay Area of California, minutes from downtown San Francisco. The California branch is a fully accredited asbestos lab that also specializes in Materials Analysis. The lab has additional surface analysis capabilities, which include Auger Electron Spectroscomy and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscomy (XPS or ESCA).

1985

Dr. Richard Lee Joins ETC.
ETC purchased the majority of the electron microscopy instrumentation from the U.S. Steel Technical Center's Advanced Electron Microscopy Laboratory. At that time, Dr. Richard Lee, the head of the Physics section, and other U.S. Steel personnel joined the company.

1980

Energy Technology Consultants (ETC) is Established.
The initial focus of Energy Technology Consultants (ETC) was to provide research and development services to industry and government institutions dealing with airborne particulate emissions.
