GHS & Product Labeling
The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) was adopted by the United Nation in 2003. This standard outlines the criteria for classifying health, physical, and environmental standards, and specifies the information that should be included on safety data sheets and the labels of hazardous chemicals. GHS replaces the many labeling and classification standards used by different countries around the world. Our industrial hygiene and environmental experts work with your company or organization to ensure your safety data sheets and product labels meet all points of this complex system.
RJ Lee Group has developed a step-wise solution to Classification Shock – one which has been successfully applied to a number of nonhazardous products. The process involves a progressive evaluation of each material, first from a physicochemical perspective and second from a toxicological or potential-for-harm approach. Our experts have developed an extremely sensitive analytical tool that employs a combination of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Computer Controlled Scanning Electron Microscopy/Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (CCSEM/EDS), and Raman (XRC) to accurately determine the weight concentration for each molecular species in a material. This information allows for the precise classification of a number of products.
