Criminal Forensics
We focus our client relationship on generating and communicating reliable, supportable results.
Scientific Evidence
Criminal forensics is an investigative process using scientific techniques to analyze physical evidence associated with a crime. These investigations can range from the analysis of a single gunshot residue sample to the identification and comparison of trace evidence fibers to the testimony of an expert witness. Our collaborations include hundreds of cases for gunshot residue and trace evidence including human hair comparison, paint comparison, animal hair identification and fiber identification
Gunshot Residue Analysis
Developed by RJ Lee Group, computer-controlled
scanning electron microscopy for the identification of gunshot
residue (GSR) particles is now widely accepted in the courts. This
automated analysis allows us to provide accurate and reliable data
along with exceptional turnaround time. RJ Lee Group is one
of the only private laboratories in the world to have earned
ASCLD/LAB-International accreditation in performing GSR analysis
and gunshot distance determination.
Trace Evidence Analysis
As a materials characterization laboratory, our expertise usually lies in what cannot be seen by the unaided human eye. We are experts in investigating and identifying materials on both a nano- and macro-scale. Trace evidence can also play a role in investigations where contact or movement between objects will often leave residue that needs to be identified. Since most trace evidence is classified as microscopic, we are expert in selecting the most appropriate analytical technique suited to the sample material to identify and characterize it.
