A Pennsylvania police department arrested a man suspected of shooting a woman and charged him with murder. RJ Lee Group (RJLG) was contracted to analyze the defendant's clothing for the presence of gunshot residue (GSR). Particles were extracted from the clothing and then analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Those particles were confirmed as being unique-to and consistent-with GSR. An RJLG scientist testified as an expert witness to the accuracy of this data, which contributed to the conviction of the defendant.
