A woman, suspected of shooting and killing her father, was charged with murder by the F.B.I. RJ Lee Group (RJLG) was contracted to perform gunshot residue (GSR) analysis of the suspect's hands and clothing as well as perform a test firing of the suspected murder weapon to study the plume distribution of GSR. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis demonstrated that the distribution of GSR from the defendant was consistent with the distribution of the weapon in the test firing. This analysis was critical to the prosecution's case.
