Dust Exposure Assessment
RJ Lee Group (RJLG) teamed with Center for Toxicology and Environmental Health (CTEH) to provide industrial hygiene sampling, laboratory analysis, and technical consulting services to a major cement manufacturer to monitor and evaluate dust exposures of employees at nine nation-wide locations during normal business operations. The industrial hygiene assessments conducted at each facility consisted of the monitoring of dust exposures of potentially up to 60 hourly (day shift) employees per location for two consecutive days. The results from the analysis of personnel samples were compared to applicable Mine Safety & Health (MSHA) standards for total and respirable dust, crystalline silica and metals. The assessment identified analytes of potential concern as well as any instrumental analysis matrix interferences that may be present in the materials involved with operations.
