Health Care Services - Hazardous Drugs
RJLG monitors for selected agents at various steps in the drug usage process to detect and
quantify contamination, identify processes which may contribute to contamination, and
implement measures to reduce contamination. Sample analysis is provided by Exposure Control,
an industry leader in analyzing environmental samples for hazardous drugs.


Environmental Monitoring for Hazardous DrugsContaminated surfaces may include but are not limited to: drug storage containers; biological safety cabinet (BSC) workbenches; floors near BSCs; compounded preparations transporting/ storage containers; pharmacy pass-through windows; pharmacy desks and counter tops used for storage and verification of compounded preparations; pharmacy office objects (doorknobs, telephones, computers, etc.), infusion center nursing stations, carts, and counter tops; bedside infusion tables and floors; disposal containers; and soiled utilities and gloves.
