Biosolids

As described by the EPA, “Biosolids are the nutrient-rich organic materials resulting from the treatment of sewage sludge (the name for the solid, semisolid, or liquid untreated residue generated during the treatment of domestic sewage in a treatment facility).”  Biosolids can be recycled as viable products but they must be screened for certain pollutants and pathogens and for vector attraction reduction if the biosolids are land applied, placed on a surface disposal site or incinerated (EPA Part 503 – rule 131).  RJLG has the capabilities to analyze these materials.
