Whole Air Collection and Analysis

An alternative to the known volume through a filter method of air sample collection is whole air sample collection.  This method involves air samples collected in canisters.  This eliminates the need for desorbtion solvents to dissolve the compound from the sampling apparatus.  As the compounds are not diluted with a solvent, they can be fed directly into the gas chromatograph (GC) for analysis.
