USP 797 is a sterile compounding preparation standard for pharmacies, designed to reduce the transmission of infections to patients and control exposure to pharmacy workers. It is being promulgated to insure contamination free compounding. As part of a larger infection control program, the standard demands strict evaluation and testing of the hospital environment. The guidelines of USP 797 call for changes in the pharmaceutical compounding of sterile preparations in health-care institutions. RJLG’s experts are nationally recognized as leaders in contaminant assessment and analytical testing.
We execute the "Formula for Compliance" to meet the new standards and long-term procedures to manage the process.

To minimize risk of adverse patient outcomes resulting from inadvertent exposures to environmental opportunistic pathogens or airborne pathogens, infection control must be effective. Through site inspections, RJLG performs evaluations of infection control systems in place at health care facilities. Key elements of infection control evaluation include:
- Documentation of Infection Control Activities
- Monitoring Air Quality
- Monitoring for Endotoxins in Water
- Evaluation of Potential Sources of Contamination
- Documentation of Water Damage Response Procedures
- Health and Safety Planning for Animal Research Facilities
- Evaluation of Handling of Laundry and Bedding
- Evaluation of Disposal of Medical Wastes
