Contamination Identification and Source Determination

Contamination in raw, in-process materials or finished products can cause failures or prevent materials from meeting specifications.  While some material contamination can be visible to the naked eye, contaminants can often be minute in size making their detection and identification far from routine. RJLG has extensive experience working with microscopic particulate, and employs a wide array of analytical techniques to comprehensively identify such microscopic contaminants and their source. This information enables RJLG staff to work with our customers to refine their processes to manage contamination issues and reduce the potential for downstream problems.

The technical staff at RJLG also has experience in the handling, extraction, and identification of a single particle within a sample, regardless of particle size. We also have the capability to analyze multi-modal size distributions, making RJLG well-suited to address a very broad range of applications.
