RJLG’s Minining and Minerals Services Group provides mineral characterization expertise from raw materials exploration to waste by-product handling to finished product certification or qualification. At each step in the production process, our experts can provide quantitative and qualitative phase composition analysis of solids, including rocks, ores, industrial minerals, mineral concentrates, sludges and tailings.
Even small amounts of contaminants in mining materials may impact the performance of those materials. When small quantities of unknown substances are to be identified, specialized instruments are required. RJLG has experience performing trace element analysis and trace contaminant determination for mineral speciation. Using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), or a host of other characterization techniques, our experts can determine the composition of the trace contaminants.
