Dr. Kristin Lee Bunker has 15 years of materials science and analytical instrumentation experience. Her research involved the structural, compositional, electrical, and optical characterization of gallium nitride- and indium gallium nitride-based light emitting diodes. She is experienced in a variety of analytical techniques including optical and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Field Emission SEM, and Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM). Her research also involved the design, development and implementation of SEM-based and STEM-based Electron Beam Induced Current and Cathodoluminescence systems. She served as a teaching assistant and guest lecturer for a graduate level SEM lecture and lab course and a guest lecturer for an undergraduate level Electrical Properties of Materials and Devices course.
Dr. Bunker was previously employed at RJLG's laboratory in California where she conducted materials studies for a broad range of clientele including the pharmaceutical, stainless steel and semiconductor industry. She has testified in court concerning the identification of trace evidence gunshot residue.
Dr. Bunker is a member of Materials Research Society, Microbeam Analysis Society, Microscopy Society of America (MSA), Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa Society. She has published in peer-reviewed literature.
