Mr. David Exline has recently been promoted to general manager of commercial and forensic services at RJLG. He is now responsible for the day to day operations of the Company's analytical services, including pharmaceutical, materials, environmental, forensics and bio-medical departments.

Prior, Mr. Exline was the director of pharmaceutical and biotechnology services, where he managed the laboratory and consulting services for the pharmaceutical industry. He specialized in pharmaceutical materials characterization, particulate contamination analysis, particle sizing and high-resolution microscopy. In addition, he used a wide variety of instrumental techniques including scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, inductively coupled plasma, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, high performance liquid chromatography, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy.

Dave also has expertise in the identification of trace evidence such as hairs, fibers, paints. Before returning to RJLG in 2003, he was a forensic scientist at ChemImage Corporation, where he conducted forensic analysis for law enforcement and private sector agencies and was responsible for the development and implementation of analytical instrumentation for the forensic community. Prior to this, he was responsible for the oversight and functions of the trace evidence section of the Anne Arundel County Police Department Crime Laboratory in Millersville, MD.

Dave has instructed law enforcement agencies, attorneys and students in the collection, preservation and examination of trace evidence. He is a court-qualified expert in the area of trace evidence examination.

Dave is a diplomate of the American Board of Criminalistics, a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, Mid-Atlantic Association of Forensic Scientists, International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts and the Forensic Science Society.  He was the recipient of the 1999 American Academy of Forensic Sciences Regional Award and the 1999 International Association of Forensic Sciences Emerging Forensic Scientist Continental Award.
