Ms. Elana Foster has over 10 years experience as a scientist and is currently the manager of the forensic science department at RJLG.  She has been analyzing gunshot residue samples for the past six years and has been qualified as an expert in 16 states.  Prior to joining RJLG in 2001, Ms. Foster worked for Sony Electronics.  At Sony, she worked in the Glass Laboratory analyzing glass inclusions and defects related to the melting process.  Ms. Foster also worked in the new business development department, developing an anti-reflective coating that was applied to TV glass.  After joining RJLG, she initially worked for the organic chemistry department and later transferred to the forensic science department.

Ms. Foster is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, Mid Atlantic Association of Forensic Scientists, Society of Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh and the International Association for Identification.
