Ms. Elana Foster has over 10 years experience as a scientist and is currently the manager of the criminal forensic department at RJLG. She is qualified as an expert witness in Alabama, California, Delaware, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Ms. Foster joined the Company in 2001 as a member of the analytical chemistry department and moved into forensics in 2003. She has received extensive training in the preparation, interpretation and analysis of gunshot residue (GSR) by scanning electron microscopy. She analyzes GSR by computer-controlled scanning electron microscopy, and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectroscopy techniques. At test firings of firearms related to casework, she collects, prepares and analyzes GSR samples and interprets and reports the results to clients.

Ms. Foster is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, Mid-Atlantic Association of Forensic Scientists, International Association for Identification and the American Chemical Society.
