Mr. Steven Schlaegle, with nearly 20 years of experience in materials characterization, is the director of biomedical services at RJLG. He is currently in charge of business development for biomedical device manufacturers and for healthcare institutions, which must meet guidelines of USP 797 - calling for changes in the pharmaceutical compounding of sterile preparations.
Mr. Schalegle began his career at RJLG as an associate microscopist and went on to manage the environmental services department. He specializes in the characterization of particulate matter using manual and automated scanning electron microscopy (SEM). He is experienced in the analysis of particulate using transmission electron microscopy and polarized light microscopy. In addition, he has been involved in the development of sample preparation and scanning electron microscopy techniques for automated detection, measurement, identification and quantitative analysis of various particles.
He has published in peer-reviewed literature.
