Mr. William Powers has nearly 50 years of experience as a geologist. He is the manager of the optical microscopy group at RJLG's headquarters facility. He has extensive experience in mineralogy, geology, and mineral processing He has conducted numerous petrographic investigations of quarry samples for the mining industry and refractory materials for the steel industry, as well as a broad range of materials for product manufacture for a variety of industry sectors. He has also conducted studies of gunshot residue.
Mr. Powers has analyzed thousands of bulk materials and soil samples for the determination of asbestos following EPA methods. He is an on-site laboratory assessor for asbestos certification under the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP).
Prior to RJLG, Mr. Powers was a research engineer with US Steel Corporation for 27 years.
Mr. Powers is a member of the Society of Mining Engineers.
He holds four patents and has published in peer-reviewed literature.
