Ms. Julie Wolfe has been named Manager of the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology group for the Pennsylvania laboratories, located in both Monroeville and Waynesburg. Ms. Wolfe joined the RJLG team as a technical consultant in 2005 specializing in Raman spectroscopy, interpretation and databasing. In the spring of 2007 she accepted a position to manage pharmaceutical operations at the Evergreene laboratory facility in Waynesburg. Julie brings 7 years of analytical experience spanning several disciplines. She also supports other departments, such as litigation and materials, with Raman analysis and interpretation. In addition, while at the Waynesburg laboratory, she devoted a portion of her time to activities at the Forensic Science Laboratory at Waynesburg University, in which RJLG is a developing partner.

Still one of Ms Wolfe's main focuses in the pharmaceutical group, is the execution of a multi-tiered analytical approach to sample analysis. This analysis utilizes combinations of light obscuration, automated Raman and automated SEM techniques for high throughput analysis of foreign particulate matter in pharmaceutical products. She works closely with clients to develop the right combination of techniques to fully support their needs. In addition to maintaining the Class 100 clean room at the Evergreene facility, she also works closely with the quality assurance department to sustain GMP compliance. Also, she is involved with personnel training and developed a company-wide Raman Training session for employees and interns.

Ms. Wolfe was previously employed at the Allegheny County Crime Laboratory where she utilized numerous analytical techniques as a forensic toxicologist including GC, GC/MS, UV-Vis, HPLC and immunoassay. She was also involved in preparations towards ASCLD/LAB (American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board) certification of the laboratory. Prior to that, she was employed at ChemImage Corporation, where she specialized in various chemical imaging techniques.

Ms. Wolfe is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Pennsylvania State University Alumni Association.

Ms. Wolfe is a co-inventor on several US and European patents as well as additional patents pending.  She has also been involved in numerous presentations and has published in peer-reviewed literature.
